Name of the Unit: Faculty of Material Technologies and Textile Design

 

Project Title: Sustainable design of hybrid (textile-materials) active conductive structures in

frequency-selective surface systems (FSS) with dominant incident wave absorption

coefficient or reflected beam directing capabilities of electromagnetic radiation

(PEM).

 

Project Description:

The aim of the project is to develop innovative, sustainable hybrid materials to be used in frequency-selective surface systems. These structures will be characterized by either a high absorption coefficient of the incident wave or the ability to steer the beam of reflected electromagnetic waves (EMW).

 

Number of Positions Available: 1

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • A PhD degree in technical sciences with a specialization in materials engineering or a related field, obtained outside Lodz University of Technology and awarded no earlier than 3 years before the planned employment year in the project
  • Documented scientific achievements confirmed by publications in international journals (including at least two as the first author) and presentations at conferences (minimum of 2 international conferences)
  • At least one publication in an international scientific journal ranked with a minimum of 140 points on the Polish Ministry of Education and Science journal list
  • Fluent command of English enabling effective communication in an international research team and the independent preparation of scientific reports and publications
  • Advanced knowledge in the design, technology, and properties of textile/composite materials
  • Familiarity with the mechanical characterization and testing methods of textile/composite materials
  • Practical laboratory experience in strength testing of materials in accordance with ASTM or ISO standards
  • Advanced knowledge in the field of electromagnetic properties of materials (testing methods, measurement procedures, data interpretation, etc.)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a strong capacity for solving scientific problems independently
  • Additional assets:
    • Knowledge of textile and/or composite product manufacturing methods
    • Basic knowledge of electromagnetic simulation techniques and programming in MATLAB

 

 

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time employment contract for a fixed term (24 months)
  • Full-time position

  • Preparation of reports and presentations of research results
  • Collaboration with the project team and external partners
  • Participation in conferences and publication of research results in international journals
