The European Union, its Member States and Europeans across the continent are mobilised in support of people fleeing the war in Ukraine. We are working on all fronts to support Ukraine with assistance, humanitarian aid and civil protection. This specific initiative wants to support researchers of Ukraine by providing them with an overview of all existing actions at European and national levels.

The government provides Ukrainian refugees arriving in Israel with humanitarian aid that includes temporary housing in hotels, basic health insurance, and supplies such as clothing and food, as well as daycare for children and nursing facilities for the elderly.
In addition, each hosting higher education institution provides accommodation services on a personal basis.

Bar Ilan University
Bar-Ilan University embraces and welcomes all students, lecturers, and researchers from Ukraine and offers special assistance for those in need. In addition, BIU’s International School offers support for current Ukrainian students struggling with the situation.
Ben Gurion University
BGU Invites students and scholars who were affected by the war in Ukraine to join their programs. More details here.
The University of Haifa invites graduate students (Master and PhD), postdoctoral researchers and visiting scholars and faculty affected by the war in Ukraine to apply to our Special Visiting Program. Eligible candidates for the Special Visiting Program will be offered accommodation and scholarships. You can apply here.

Weizmann Institute of Science
Weizmann Institute has created two special programmes for Ukrainian Graduate Students: one for Visiting Scientists and one for visiting students.
The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities
The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities is offering to fund up to ten Emergency Fellowships for Ukrainian Researchers throughout the year, to allow them the opportunity to continue their scientific work in Israel. Full details are here.
