Description

The actual proposal deals with the study of the effects of applications of foliar supplements on grapevines, specifically on the aromatic component of the resulting wines. A series of applications of foliar supplements to be applied in the vineyard have been designed, as well as the evaluation of the results

The supplements will be dosed in the vineyard according to an experimental design, on two different dates. The effects of the treatments on the grapes will be monitored during the ripening period, at least during 3 points until the harvest date. After the harvest, winemaking will be carried out on a pilot scale of the grapes from the vines under treatments. The wines will be analytical and sensorial characterized and the preferences of the tasting panel will be established, as well as the volatile components responsible for the differences between them. The data treatment using supervised techniques will allow to correlate the final composition of the wines with the composition of the supplements added.

The control systems and the necessary resources for the elaboration and characterization of the wines are available in the IVAGRO-UCA. The research group has extensive experience in the development of studies on the effects of vineyard cultivation conditions on final wines. We also have the right experience for the development of winemaking on a pilot scale under controlled conditions.

This project is inside a grant supported by the Andalusian Government..
